Among Toronto's First Ceramic Implant Practices

Dental-Home-Image.png

A Dental Home for
Toronto, Since 2013

Finding a holistic dentist in Toronto isn't only about fixing a tooth — it's about finding a practice that listens, explains, and treats you as a whole person. That's the philosophy Dr. Michael Schecter built Rooted Dental on when he returned to his hometown of Toronto with a renewed, whole-body approach to dentistry.

Today, from our practice on Bathurst Street near St. Clair — in the Humewood-Cedarvale neighbourhood, steps from Cedarvale Park — we provide biological dentistry to patients throughout Forest Hill, Wychwood, Casa Loma, Yonge and St. Clair, and the wider GTA. Every treatment plan starts with the same question: how does this choice affect not just your smile, but your whole body?

Meet Dr. Michael Schecter, DDS

"Dentistry is an opportunity to truly heal — not just teeth, but the whole person. My goal is to help patients feel supported, restored, and well from the inside out."

Dr. Schecter has practiced dentistry in Toronto for more than 20 years. A graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry (2006), he was one of the earliest adopters of zirconia ceramic implants in Canada, placing them since 2008, and has incorporated ozone therapy into his practice since 2006.

Why Choose a Holistic
Dentist in Toronto?

Holistic Healing With Natural Modalities - Rooted Dental.png

NATURAL MODALITIES, REAL RESULTS

As a biological dentist in Toronto, we prioritize natural healing wherever it's appropriate — reducing reliance on antibiotics, using biocompatible materials, and integrating techniques like PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) into surgical procedures to support faster, more comfortable recovery.

Innovative Ozone Therapy - Rooted Dental (1).png

INNOVATIVE OZONE THERAPY

Ozone is a cornerstone of our Toronto practice, used daily in gum-disease and cavity-prevention protocols. We infuse it around the gums, apply it to decayed surfaces, and use it to disinfect root canals before they're filled — an adjunct that helps reduce infection without replacing sound conventional care.

Collaborative Wellness - Rooted Dental.png

COLLABORATIVE WELLNESS
EXPERTISE

Unique among holistic dentists in Toronto, we offer consultations and referral relationships with naturopaths, osteopaths, and homeopaths, so oral health concerns are treated as part of your whole-body picture, not in isolation.

Safety Focused NaNatural Solutions - Rooted Dental.png

SAFETY-FOCUSED, MINIMALLY INVASIVE CARE

From biocompatibility testing to diagnostic tools like the Canary Scan, microscopic plaque analysis, and saliva pH testing, Toronto patients trust us for personalized, minimally invasive treatment planning that puts safety and comfort first.

The Rooted Dental Difference

When you're comparing holistic dentists in Toronto, here's what should set your choice apart:

CONVENTIONAL DENTISTRY

• Titanium implants

• Routine root canals

• Amalgam (mercury) fillings

• Antibiotics as a first response

• Treats the mouth in isolation

ROOTED DENTAL CARE

• Metal-free ceramic / zirconia implants

• Root-cause evaluation with biological alternatives when appropriate

• Safe, metal-free composite & ceramic restorations, plus safe amalgam removal protocols

• PRF-assisted healing and ozone therapy to support the body's own recovery

• Collaborative care with naturopaths, osteopaths & homeopaths for whole-body health

Signature Toronto Services

Comprehensive holistic and biological dental solutions tailored to your whole-body health.

Holistic & Biological Dentistry

We treat the root cause of oral health issues, not just the symptoms — considering nutrition, hormone balance, medications, and lifestyle alongside your teeth and gums.

Ceramic / Zirconia Implants

Rooted Dental was among the first practices in Toronto to offer all-ceramic Z-Systems implants. 100% metal-free and biocompatible, they blend naturally with your smile with no grey line at the gum.

Ozone Therapy

A gentle, gas-based treatment that kills bacteria, fungus, and parasites — used in gum therapy, cavity prevention, and to disinfect root canals and implant sites during healing.

PRF Recovery

Derived from your own blood, PRF accelerates healing after implant surgery and extractions, reducing swelling and supporting natural tissue regeneration.

Biomimetic Tooth Restoration

Metal-free fillings and restorations designed to mimic the natural strength and appearance of your tooth, preserving as much healthy structure as possible.

Safe Amalgam Removal

Dr. Schecter was one of the first dentists in Toronto to adopt advanced protocols (rubber dams, air filtration, oxygen supply) for removing old mercury amalgam fillings safely.

Salivary & Canary Diagnostic Testing

Microscopic plaque analysis, saliva pH testing, and Canary Scan technology let us detect decay and imbalance early — often before it's visible to the naked eye.

Family & Preventive Dentistry

From children's checkups to guided biofilm therapy and airway health, we support every member of the family with the same whole-body philosophy.
